DET Collaborates with Amadeus on Travel Innovation

The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism has partnered with Amadeus to enhance its travel technology capabilities.

The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) has entered a significant memorandum of understanding with Amadeus, a leader in travel technology. This partnership aims to foster a city-wide ecosystem for rapid development of travel technology solutions while bolstering Dubai’s status as a hub for travel innovation.

The MoU was signed by Issam Kazim, CEO of the Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DCTCM), and Maher Koubaa, EVP of the Travel Unit and Managing Director for EMEA at Amadeus. This agreement is expected to help achieve the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33, which focuses on enhancing Dubai’s global appeal for business and leisure activities.

Both DET and Amadeus will collaborate in areas including travel data analytics and marketing, while also setting up a Centre of Excellence in Dubai for advancements in traveler experiences, emphasizing biometrics and other technological enhancements that support local startups and improve intelligence reporting in the hospitality sector.

Issam Kazim remarked, “This partnership signifies a pivotal moment in consolidating Dubai’s role as an innovation hub and aligns with our efforts in advancing digital transformation across the travel sector.”

Maher Koubaa added, “Collaborating with DET affirms our commitment to creating personalized experiences in line with the D33 Agenda. The extension of our partnership will stimulate economic growth and innovation in Dubai.”
