
Koshi Province in Nepal to Enhance Tourism Infrastructure
Koshi Province's chief minister reveals ongoing efforts to improve tourism infrastructure and invites international tourists.
Koshi Province’s Chief Minister, Hikmat Kumar Karki, announced efforts to develop tourism infrastructure in the region. He opened the Eastern Travel Mart in Itahari on March 9, expressing that tourism is crucial for economic prosperity and that the provincial government is prioritizing it.
Karki stated:
“Economic prosperity and development are the utmost priority of the government, and developmental initiatives were forwarded to relevant parties in a planned manner.”

The chief minister aims to collaborate with local technical partners to identify new tourist destinations to increase arrivals in Koshi Province.
Event Promotion
The Eastern Travel Mart is designed to enhance the visibility of Koshi Province to the global tourism community. According to Baral, this year’s event attracted foreign tourists from India, Bhutan, and Bangladesh. They will also partake in a familiarization tour of the province to explore its attractions.
The event is organized in partnership with the Nepal Tourism Board and local government officials in Itahari.
