Marbella is preparing to serve as the venue for an exhilarating Davis Cup tie between Spain and Denmark from September 12 to 14 at the Puente Romano Tennis Club. This event highlights the city as a key player in the sports sector and as a prime location for international competitions.
The iconic ‘Manolo Santana’ court has witnessed historic tennis moments and will once again resonate with this key encounter. This marks the fifth time Marbella will host a Davis Cup match, showcasing its organizational experience for major events.

The Mayor of Marbella, Ángeles Muñoz, celebrated the city’s nomination to host another Davis Cup tie, emphasizing that this choice reaffirms Marbella’s status as a key player in the sports arena. “The club, with its iconic ‘Manolo Santana’ court, has witnessed significant tennis moments and will pulse again with another sporting event of this level,” she stated.
Furthermore, Patricia del Pozo, the Councillor for Culture and Sports of the Andalusian Government, expressed that Marbella’s selection strengthens Andalucía as a prime destination for sports practice, recalling memorable events such as the Davis Cup finals and the Billie Jean King Cup.
Moreover, Miguel Díaz, the national federation president, highlighted the collaboration between the City Council and the Andalusian Government as crucial to bringing the tie to Puente Romano. He also mentioned that players and the captain are thrilled with the choice, noting the exceptional weather and quality of courts in Marbella.
The encounter against Denmark promises high-level matches, presenting an attractive challenge for Spain, which seeks a ticket to the Final 8 in Bologna. Ticket sales will be announced soon. Marbella has hosted the Davis Cup on several occasions, including at the Plaza de Toros in Puerto Banús in 2009 and the Puente Romano Tennis Club in 1989, 2018, and 2022.
