Cathay Pacific Clinches Double Honors at Airline Industry Achievement Awards

Cathay Pacific celebrates significant accolades as Cargo Operator of the Year and Eco-Airline of the Year at the prestigious Airline Industry Achievement Awards.

Cathay Pacific has proudly achieved two major awards at the Air Transport World’s (ATW) 51st annual Airline Industry Achievement Awards. The airline was recognized as the Cargo Operator of the Year and Eco-Airline of the Year, marking a significant milestone in its history.

Lavinia Lau, Chief Customer and Commercial Officer, emphasized the importance of these wins: “Winning these two prestigious airline industry awards at the same time is an extraordinary achievement and a true testament to the efforts and dedication of our entire global team over the past year. I would like to sincerely thank our people for their incredible support and commitment, without which these award wins would not have been possible.”

Cathay’s commitment to cargo operations has been fundamental and its recognition as Eco-Airline of the Year illustrates its leadership in sustainable aviation practices. Lau noted that sustainability is integral to Cathay’s mission to lead in renewable energy transitions within aviation.

Tom Owen, Director of Cargo at Cathay, commented on the award for Cargo Operations: “We are honored to receive the prestigious title of Cargo Operator of the Year, which reflects the unwavering dedication of our team and our crucial role in maintaining Hong Kong’s status as a leading global air cargo hub.”

Additionally, Grace Cheung, General Manager for Sustainability, stated, “This recognition highlights our commitment to fostering a collaborative approach towards sustainability.”

Cathay Pacific remains deeply committed to sustainability initiatives, aiming for net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. The company is also working towards reducing single-use plastics significantly. Overall, this recognition reinforces Cathay’s position as a leader in the aviation industry.
