Travelex has recently launched four new stores at Dubai International Airport (DXB), coinciding with a record number of travelers passing through in 2024. The airport recorded 92.3 million passengers last year, exceeding its pre-pandemic peak in 2018 and solidifying its status as the world’s busiest airport for international travel.

These new establishments are positioned throughout the airport to accommodate the rising visitor numbers. Customers can exchange over 60 currencies or collect cash pre-ordered via the Travelex website.

Travelex first opened a store at DXB in 2009. With the addition of these four stores, the total count at DXB rises to 35, and the company has expanded its workforce to over 540 staff.

Batu Dölay, Managing Director at Travelex Middle East and Türkiye, expressed pride in the company’s ongoing relationship with Dubai International, noting, > “We are extremely proud to be further extending our long-standing relationship with Dubai International (DXB) with the launch of four new stores. DXB’s growth and success is the envy of many other global hubs and our new stores reflect our mission of being more accessible and convenient to the growing number of visitors to the region.”

Alison Macdonald, Vice President – Commercial Concession Management at Dubai Airports, stated, > “At Dubai Airports, we are committed to delivering a seamless experience for our global guests by offering services that truly enhance their journey. Travelex’s expansion at Dubai International is a great example of this, providing essential foreign exchange services with greater convenience and accessibility.”
