Qatar Airways, recognized as the World’s Best Airline by Skytrax 2024, has launched an off-airport check-in service in Makkah, designed to streamline the travel experience for Hajj and Umrah passengers.
Launched in collaboration with Saudi Ground Services (SGS), this service allows travelers to complete their check-in, receive boarding passes, and arrange for baggage collection directly from Makkah, ensuring a hassle-free transit to the airport.
Effective from March 1, 2025, this service is based at the Makkah Clock Royal Tower, a Fairmont Hotel location strategically situated at the hotel’s entrance. This initiative aims to minimize wait times at the airport, enabling pilgrims to concentrate on their spiritual journey with greater convenience and comfort.
Badr Mohammed Al Meer, Group CEO of Qatar Airways, emphasized the commitment to enhancing the travel experience for pilgrims, stating, “At Qatar Airways, we recognize the profound significance of Hajj and Umrah and remain committed to enhancing the travel experience for our passengers. By introducing this service in collaboration with Saudi Ground Services, we enable pilgrims to begin their journey with convenience and peace of mind.”

Passengers utilizing this off-airport service can anticipate an expedited process with secure baggage transportation to the airport, reducing waiting time significantly. This advancement is part of Qatar Airways’ dedication to refining its services for Hajj and Umrah travelers, representing a higher level of convenience and comfort right from the journey’s inception.
With operations spanning 11 cities across Saudi Arabia and over 120 weekly flights, including 35 to Jeddah, Qatar Airways continues to enhance travel connectivity and efficiency.
