Philippine National Railways Restarts Legazpi-Naga Services

The Philippine National Railways has resumed operations on the Legazpi-Naga route after a three-month suspension, offering improved transportation options for passengers.

The Philippine National Railways (PNR) has officially resumed its operations on the Legazpi-Naga route, which had been suspended for three months due to train damage from weather incidents in 2024. Operations restarted on February 26 with initial services involving just two trips.

Miranda expressed gratitude to the Bicol residents for their support and emphasized that additional journeys would be planned as repairs to other trains are completed.

He remarked, “Our passengers can expect additional trips on this route in the coming months as we continue to provide faster, safer, and more affordable public transportation.”

Passengers can look forward to a quicker, more economical travel option as the journey spans approximately 3 hours and 14 minutes over a distance of 100 kilometers. The maiden trip departed Legazpi Station at 4:49 AM with 99 passengers and is scheduled to return from Naga at 5 PM. The train service includes stops at Legazpi, Daraga, Travesia, Ligao, Polangui, Iriga, Pili, and Naga, with flag stops at several locations along the way.

Current operations on the Naga-Sipocot route are running without interruptions. Miranda also urged travelers to follow strict security measures to ensure safety during their journeys.
