Focus on Startups at Dubai International Boat Show’s Innovation Hub

The Dubai International Boat Show, known for luxury yachts and lifestyle, has reaffirmed its status as a global hub by attracting diverse visitors and exhibitors from over 60 countries while highlighting local maritime startups.

During the five-day event, which runs until February 23, attendees can explore more than 1,000 brands and 200 yachts at Dubai Harbour.

Startups in the Spotlight

This year’s DIBS Innovation Hub, introduced by Yachting Ventures, focuses on international startups from countries like Kuwait, Egypt, and France, allowing them to showcase their innovations.

Lionel Pean, President of Seafloatech, shared, “As a young company launching new products, having the support of DIBS is invaluable in helping us navigate the challenge of risk. Dubai is a truly magical place where anything seems possible.”

The hub features startups like Airmarker, which creates signal balloons for vessels in distress, and Hydroflyer, specializing in electric hydrofoil crafts.

Juan Crosby, COO of iWarranty, stated, “DIBS has been fantastic in providing a platform to showcase what we do.”

The initiative not only aids startups economically but promotes relationship-building. Joris Van Aelst from Bcraft noted the significance of DIBS in supporting innovation in the rapidly growing Dubai maritime industry.

Proudly UAE

The show also shines a spotlight on local companies through its Proudly UAE segment, enhancing exposure within the global maritime landscape. Ali Abdullah Al Qusib Al Naqbi from Dubai Police mentioned the participation reinforces maritime security and safety innovations.

Flavio Gatti, Manager at Al Fajer Marine LLC, affirmed the importance of the show, emphasizing it as vital for local brands in showcasing their products to global visitors.
