Singapore on Track to Reach Record High International Arrivals in 2025

The World Travel & Tourism Council predicts Singapore will excel in tourism, surpassing previous records, driven by increasing visitor numbers from India and the return of travelers from China.

  • Overview
The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) indicates that Singapore is poised to shatter its previous international arrival records this year, surpassing regional competitors such as Thailand and the Philippines.

  • Forecast
International arrivals are predicted to nearly reach 16 million in 2025, an increase of 9.6% compared to the pre-pandemic era of 2019.

  • Visitor Surge
Indian tourism is on the rise, with arrivals projected to rise significantly. Chinese visitors are also expected to increase, contributing to growth.

  • Regional Competition
Despite a slower recovery in outbound Chinese travel globally, Singapore is set to receive nearly 2.8 million tourists from China, paving the way for further expansion in 2026.

Meanwhile, Thailand and Malaysia also forecast an increase in international visitors this year, demonstrating a strong rebound in tourism across Southeast Asia.

  • WTTC Insights
Julia Simpson, WTTC President & CEO, stated, “Singapore is setting the pace for global tourism growth, breaking records, and outpacing its regional rivals. With soaring visitor numbers expected from India, and a return of Chinese travellers, the city-state’s tourism engine is running at full throttle.”

This surge reflects not just a recovery, but a transformation in the tourism sector with a strong emphasis on innovation and sustainability.
