EVA Air Unveils Next-Gen Premium Economy Class Seating
EVA Air introduces its innovative fourth-generation Premium Economy Class seats featuring greater comfort and advanced technology.
EVA Air, Taiwan’s independent airline, has revealed its fourth-generation Premium Economy Class seats with an impressive seat pitch of 42 inches. This innovative design was unveiled during the “Focus on Evolution: Taking Off with Heart” event at Evergreen Aviation Technologies Corporation’s No. 4 Hangar.
Key Features of the New Premium Economy Seats:
- First Experience on Boeing 787-9: This marks the inaugural introduction of the Premium Economy Class on the Boeing 787-9, raising standards from a mere upgrade of economy to a business-class-like experience.
- Improved Cabin Experience: The new seats aim to offer a refined and comfortable cabin experience, reinforcing EVA Air’s commitment to high-quality service.
- Significant Innovations: These latest seats maintain the core philosophy of their predecessors but enhance comfort and functionality, evidencing a consistent focus on innovation that meets passenger needs.
Clay Sun, the President of EVA Air, stated:
“As the world’s first airline to launch Premium Economy Class, EVA Air has consistently focused on innovation driven by passenger needs and setting industry trends. The fourth-generation seats retain the core philosophy of previous generations while enhancing comfort, fashion, and functionality.”
The new configuration features 28 seats in a 2-3-2 arrangement, equipped with a cradle motion recline mechanism, which allows the seat cushion to slide forward for a more comfortable recline while ensuring the passenger behind retains adequate space.
Modern Amenities: The new Premium Economy Class boasts:
- 15.6-inch high-resolution monitors and a multi-function entertainment system.
- 110V AC and USB combo power outlets for traveler convenience.
- Enhanced privacy features with side panels and luxurious upholstery for a premium feel.
- Improved storage for personal items for added convenience.
EVA Air originally pioneered the Premium Economy Class, conceptualized as Evergreen Deluxe Class, back in 1992. With this new rollout, EVA Air continues to set benchmarks in the airline industry.
