Recently, Indonesian tourism minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana addressed the country’s House of Representatives outlining the ministry’s ambitious targets aimed at revitalizing the tourism sector this year.

During a recent working meeting, Wardhana expressed confidence that Indonesia is on track to achieve its goals for foreign arrivals by 2025.

The nation is striving to attract up to 16 million foreign visitors by the end of this year.

  • The tourism industry is set to provide jobs for 25.8 million individuals across various fields.
  • The ministry aims to enhance the tourism sector’s contribution to the national economy to roughly 4.6% of the gross domestic product, with expected foreign exchange earnings hitting US$22.1 billion.

To achieve these targets, relevant agencies are exploring innovative tools and processes to boost tourism.
