
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), in partnership with the provincial government of Trang, successfully organized the Amazing Thailand Love Wins Festival at the Underwater Wedding Ceremony on February 13-14 at Hat Chao Mai National Park.
This event embraced couples of all genders and nationalities, enhancing the celebration of love in a remarkable underwater environment. In her speech, TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool remarked:
“The Amazing Thailand Love Wins Festival reaffirms Thailand’s commitment to diversity and inclusivity, and this year’s ceremony is especially meaningful as the first since the enactment of marriage equality on January 23.”
With its romantic beachfront and underwater ceremonies, the festival highlighted Trang’s charm as a premier wedding and honeymoon destination while advocating for sustainable tourism.
The festival also featured a vibrant carnival celebrating inclusivity with artists, influencers, LGBTQIA+ representatives, and both government and private sector participants. Notable celebrity couples participated alongside lively drag performers.
The magnificence of marriage was illustrated through several themed processions, highlighting Thailand’s rich culture and diverse traditions.
The event culminated with the Dinner Love Wins Party, offering couples a picturesque beachfront evening filled with music and cultural performances. Since its debut in 1996, Trang’s Underwater Wedding Ceremony has gained global acclaim for hosting the world’s largest underwater wedding, confirming Thailand’s progressive recognition of marriage equality.
