Exploring Copa Airlines’ New 737 MAX Business Class

Copa Airlines, a unique Panamanian airline, operates a fleet of approximately 100 Boeing 737s, offering full-service connectivity across the Americas. While many airlines incorporate low-cost models, Copa stands out by delivering premium experiences, particularly in its ‘Dreams’ business class cabin.

The recently redesigned MAX cabin features lie-flat seats aimed at enhancing comfort for medium-haul flights, typically ranging from four to seven hours. Here’s an overview of our experience flying Copa’s MAX service.

Travel Experience Overview

We flew Copa on an award booking from Santiago to Washington DC, transiting through Panama City. This segment included access to the Primeclass Pacifico lounge, which caters to premium cabin passengers and provided a relaxing atmosphere pre-flight.

Among the highlights of the trip was the chance to test the new MAX seats, engineered for optimum comfort during flights. The cabin has either 12 or 16 lie-flat seats, arranged in a 2-2 configuration, ensuring passengers have ample space to sleep during night flights.

The business class experience starts before boarding, with personalized service and offerings such as pre-departure drinks. Each seat is equipped with a 16-inch screen as well as individual remotes for entertainment options. Despite a minor hiccup where the flight had to return due to an abnormal vibration reported by the crew, safety remained the top priority, and we resumed our journey after a thorough check-up.
