Etihad Airways has been named the official global airline partner of the Badminton World Federation starting in 2025, aiming to enhance the sport's visibility and engage fans worldwide.

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, partners with the Badminton World Federation in the 2025 season.

As the exclusive Official BWF Global Airline Partner from 2025, Etihad will be present at prestigious BWF World Tour events such as:

  • BWF World Tour Finals
  • BWF World Championships
  • BWF Sudirman Cup Finals
  • BWF Thomas and Uber Cup Finals

Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer at Etihad Airways, expressed excitement over the partnership, highlighting badminton’s growing popularity, particularly across Asia, aligning with Etihad’s expanding network which will include 13 new destinations in 2025.

Thomas Lund, the BWF Secretary General, remarked on the significance of this collaboration:

“This collaboration promises to enhance the fan experience, not just for those attending events but for millions following globally.”

As part of this partnership, Etihad will engage with badminton fans across 21 tournaments in 14 countries, offering Emirati hospitality and engaging experiences.

The partnership will be celebrated at a special event in Kuala Lumpur on January 10 during the PETRONAS Malaysia Open 2025.

This strategic collaboration underscores Etihad’s commitment to Asia, serving 28 cities, with plans to launch seven additional destinations in 2025.
