Pakistan International Airlines Resumes Flights to Europe

The revival of Pakistan International Airlines' services to Europe marks a significant milestone for the airline.

PIA Flight

Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) first flight from Islamabad successfully landed at Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris on January 10, marking its return to Europe after nearly five years.
This reestablishment of service signifies a new chapter for PIA, which aims to operate twice-weekly flights with its Boeing 777-200ER, offering three travel classes: Business, Premium Economy, and Economy.

Paris represents PIA’s initial European destination and enhances its network outside Asia and the Middle East. Upcoming services to the UK, particularly Manchester, are also on the horizon.

A statement from the airline: “With the anticipated expansion of our network and the potential resumption of flights to the UK and Europe, the airline is committed to meeting fleet requirements for its ambitious 2025 operating plan. PIA is proud to maintain notable schedule reliability and an on-time performance exceeding 90 percent, the highest in the country.”

In addition, PIA’s return was made possible by lifting the EASA ban that affected the airline since June 2020, following the tragic A320 crash in Karachi. The airline plans fleet enhancements and aims to incorporate more models of the Airbus A320-200, ATR, and Boeing 777-200ER this year.
