Mama Shelter Debuts in Dubai with Unique Hospitality Concept

The French lifestyle hotel brand Mama Shelter opens its first location in the Middle East, bringing a creative and unconventional hospitality experience to Dubai.

A New Era for Dubai’s Hospitality

Dubai’s dynamic hospitality landscape will now feature Mama Shelter, the innovative French lifestyle hotel brand, known for its eclectic atmosphere and community-focused approach. The latest addition, situated in Business Bay, is poised to shake up the hotel scene by offering unique experiences instead of competing in the luxury sector.

What Sets Mama Shelter Apart

Unlike many luxury hotels in Dubai, Mama Shelter emphasizes creativity and inclusivity over opulence. The brand intends to attract diverse guests, from locals to tourists, by creating a lively, relaxed environment. As co-founder Serge Trigano explains:

“In a city where luxury hotels vie for stars with marble and opulence, Mama Shelter represents an alternative—authenticity and community. It’s for everyone who wants to enjoy the vibrant culture of Dubai.” (Translation: In Dubai, at a time when all the world’s luxury hotels compete in a ‘Star Wars’ battle for five, six, or even seven stars, with marble and thick carpets, Mama Shelter has simply chosen to settle here, preserving its soul and character.)

Features of the New Hotel

Mama Shelter Dubai boasts 197 rooms that combine stylish design with comfort, offering premium bedding and organic amenities. Unique features include:

  • CineMama, an open-air cinema,
  • Four outdoor pools,
  • Five ateliers designed for co-working and events.

Co-founder Cédric Gobilliard describes the hotel as more than just a place to stay:

“Mama Shelter is not just a hotel; it’s a movement. This space is designed to inspire, connect, and celebrate people from all walks of life.” (Translation: Mama Shelter is not just a hotel; it’s a movement.)

A Strategic Maneuver for Khamas Hospitality

Mama Shelter’s arrival marks a significant venture for Khamas Hospitality. Managing Director Pawan Kachroo expressed pride in the new flagship, stating:

“This adds another innovative brand to our portfolio, aligning with Dubai’s vision for modernization and elegance.” (Translation: This marks a monumental milestone for us, adding another evolutionary brand to our portfolio.)
