Delta's Teams and Technology Set for Busy Travel Season

Delta Airlines is gearing up to serve millions of customers during the holiday travel season with enhanced technology and operations.

Delta Airlines is preparing to transport 9.3 million customers over 75,000 flights from December 20 to January 6 during the busy winter holiday season. The company has organized various improvements in operations to facilitate a smoother travel experience for clients.

Delta’s Operational Readiness

Experts from 36 departments meet daily at Delta’s Operations and Customer Center (OCC) to ensure optimal functionality across nearly 5,000 flights each day. This teamwork aims to provide a seamless travel experience during peak times.

Tracking Your Luggage

Travelers can use the Fly Delta app to track checked bag tags in real time, from check-in through to baggage claim. Notably, Delta has integrated Apple’s Share Item Location feature to help customers quickly locate delayed or mishandled bags.

Feature Highlight

  • Baggage Tracking: Allows sharing of AirTag locations with Delta customer service for quick assistance.
  • Share Item Location: Customers can generate a link from the Find My app to share bag locations easily.

Simplifying Travel Days

Enhancements in the Fly Delta app provide alerts on airport changes, delays, and more. The app also assists customers with SkyMiles info, seat changes, refunds, and check-in processes.

Delta Digital ID

Customers traveling through major airports now have the option to utilize Delta Digital ID, a biometric system developed in conjunction with TSA to expedite the security process.

New Routes for the Holidays

This winter, Delta will expand its schedule by adding 119 weekly flights, increasing overall capacity by 11% from last year. New destinations include:

  • Second daily flights from Atlanta to Santiago and Buenos Aires.
  • New services to Tulum, Bridgetown, and several other popular locations.

Expanded Services

Delta is also launching new routes connecting Tampa to Amsterdam, and Los Angeles to Brisbane, enhancing travel options for holiday travelers seeking ski trips and vacation spots.

With these advancements and offerings, Delta Airlines aims to ensure a pleasant and efficient travel experience this holiday season.
