Cebu Pacific's Facilities Transition to 100% Renewable Energy

Cebu Pacific enhances sustainability by fully powering two key facilities with renewable energy, in collaboration with ACEN Renewable Energy Solutions.

Cebu Pacific has made a significant advancement in its commitment to sustainability by fully transitioning two of its essential facilities to renewable energy. The move is in partnership with ACEN Renewable Energy Solutions, a leading energy platform in the Asia Pacific region.

Felix Lopez, the Chief Human Resources Officer at Cebu Pacific, stated: “This shift to clean energy is an important component of further reducing our emissions, specifically those generated from electricity use in our facilities. Through this partnership with ACEN, we also leverage the benefits from the Department of Energy’s Green Energy Option Program, leading to cost savings for Cebu Pacific while contributing to the country’s goal of enhancing renewable energy supply.”

Sheila Mina, Vice-President at ACEN, expressed excitement about the collaboration, commenting: “By providing renewable energy solutions, we are enabling Cebu Pacific to reduce its carbon emissions and enhance operational efficiency. This partnership aligns with our mission to make renewable energy accessible for enterprises across the Philippines.”

Key Facilities Transitioned

The facilities that are now powered by renewable energy, APlus and AirJuan, are crucial for Cebu Pacific’s daily operations, supporting maintenance, ground handling, and catering services.

The shift to renewable energy is part of a broader decarbonization strategy that includes modernizing the fleet to an all-NEO aircraft lineup, optimizing flight routes, and improving ground support operations.

As 2024 approaches, Cebu Pacific continues to lead in sustainable practices in the aviation sector, setting benchmarks for the industry while promoting sustainable air travel.
