Airlines Suspend Flights to Russia After Crash Incident

Following a tragic crash landing of an Azerbaijan Airlines flight, numerous airlines have ceased operations to various Russian cities amidst growing concerns.

Several airlines are halting their flights to multiple Russian cities after an Azerbaijan Airlines crash incident. Experts alongside U.S. authorities suspect the crash may have been linked to a Russian missile strike.

Incident Overview
On December 25, an Azerbaijan Airlines flight tragically crash-landed in Kazakhstan, claiming the lives of 38 out of 67 individuals aboard. Following this event, President Vladimir Putin expressed regrets regarding the crash while stopping short of accepting blame.

Authorities in Turkmenistan recently announced the suspension of all flights between Ashgabat and Moscow, effective from December 30 until January 31. This move aligns with similar actions taken by flydubai, which stopped operations to Southern Russian destinations amidst rising tensions.

Notably, Qazaq Air from Kazakhstan has also declared cancellations to Yekaterinburg, while El Al announced a short suspension of flights to Moscow. According to Azerbaijan’s declarations, ongoing investigations are indicating a mid-air strike could be responsible.

On Friday, a spokesperson from the White House, John Kirby, mentioned indications that may link Russia to the incident, although specific details have yet to be disclosed.
