Ceremony Marks 2025 Tourists Arrival in Indonesia's Major Cities

Indonesia's Ministry of Tourism organized a welcoming event for international travelers arriving at Bali, Jakarta, and the Riau Islands to herald the start of 2025.

Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism kicked off 2025 with a special welcome ceremony for foreign arrivals at the country’s three major entry points: Bali, Jakarta, and the Riau Islands.

Held in partnership with local authorities and PT Angkasa Pura, the event welcomed tourists as an auspicious start to the new year.

The ministry aims for 16 million foreign tourist arrivals in 2025, alongside a projected 1.08 billion domestic trips.

In Bali, the acting deputy of marketing, Ni Made Ayu Marthini, was on hand to greet foreign travelers arriving from Melbourne via Garuda Indonesia. Flight GA719 landed at Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport at 10:10 AM with 251 passengers.

Marthini referenced the latest Statistics Indonesia report indicating that around 5.3 million international tourists visited Bali from January to October 2024, with Australians comprising the largest group of visitors.
