Air India Launches In-Flight Wi-Fi Service on Domestic Routes

Air India sets a new standard by introducing in-flight Wi-Fi services, marking a pioneering step for Indian airlines.

Starting January 1, 2025, in-flight Wi-Fi services will be available on all flights operated by Air India’s A350, B787-9, and select A321neo aircraft.

Air India, India’s leading global airline, has announced the rollout of Wi-Fi connectivity services on both domestic and international flights, making it the first Indian airline to offer in-flight Wi-Fi during domestic travel. This initiative allows passengers, whether flying for leisure or business, to remain connected to the internet, enabling them to browse, access social media, and communicate with friends and family during their flights.

“Connectivity is now an integral part of modern travel. For some, it is about the convenience and comfort of real-time sharing, while for others, it is greater productivity and efficiency. Whatever be one’s purpose, we are confident that our guests will appreciate having the option to connect to the web and enjoy the new Air India experience on board these aircraft,” said Rajesh Dogra, Chief Customer Experience Officer, Air India.

Wi-Fi services will be accessible on Wi-Fi-enabled devices like laptops, tablets, and smartphones using iOS or Android systems, allowing guests to connect multiple devices simultaneously when the plane is above 10,000 feet. Initial access to the service will be complimentary.

How to access Wi-Fi on Air India flights:

  1. Enable Wi-Fi and go to Wi-Fi settings.
  2. Select the ‘Air India Wi-Fi’ network.
  3. Once redirected to the Air India portal on the default browser, enter your details like PNR and last name.
  4. Access complimentary internet service.

Wi-Fi connectivity may vary based on several factors, including satellite connectivity and government restrictions.
