EVA Air recently marked a significant achievement by being included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) Emerging Markets Index. This is a notable milestone for the Taiwanese airline as it reflects its commitment to sustainable operations.

Thanks to its prominent leadership and focus on sustainable practices, EVA Air secured the highest Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) score within the global aviation sector during the 2024 S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment. Over 13,000 companies from 62 industries participated in the assessment this year.

EVA Air excelled among the 61 evaluated airlines, being recognized for its comprehensive ESG strategies.

Commitment to Sustainability

EVA Air’s integration into the DJSI is a testament to its corporate sustainability accomplishments. The airline achieved top rankings in various categories such as Transparency & Reporting, Risk & Crisis Management, and Environmental Policy & Management. Indeed, EVA Air is further embedding Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) into its operations. For instance, in August 2023, the airline conducted a flight from Tokyo Haneda (HND) to Taipei Songshan (TSA) with a 40% blend of SAF. By December 16, a flight from Incheon (ICN) to Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) used SAF with a 30% blend, contributing to a reduction of about 14,000 kg of carbon dioxide emissions.

Such efforts demonstrate EVA Air’s dedication to environmental stewardship through actionable practices, and the airline continues to pursue sustainability through innovation and collaboration in the industry.
