
STARLUX Airlines has made Seattle its third North American destination as of August 16, 2024. Previously, the airline launched services to Los Angeles and San Francisco in 2023.
Founded in 2018, STARLUX Airlines began operations in 2020 with routes from Taipei to locations such as Macau, Penang, and Da Nang. It offers a luxury experience with four classes across its fleet of 23 aircraft.
Inaugural Flight
STARLUX Airlines’ inaugural flight from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) received a traditional water-cannon salute as it taxied to the gate.
Their Airbus A350-900 aircraft come equipped with 306 seats organized into:
- 4 first-class suites
- 26 business-class pods
- 36 premium economy recliners
- 240 economy seats

STARLUX currently operates a variety of other Asian destinations with its fleet, which includes the Airbus A321neo, A330neo, and A350 planes.
In 2023, STARLUX entered a codeshare agreement with Alaska Airlines, enabling reciprocal loyalty program benefits and streamlined connections.
Collaborative Partnership
Starlux and Alaska Airlines are codeshare partners.
Scheduled flights to Seattle are planned to occur thrice weekly, with future ambitions to upgrade this to daily schedules by early 2025.

With the addition of this new route, Seattle-Tacoma International Airport now offers 53 nonstop international services with a total of 27 airlines. STARLUX’s services are anticipated to enrich travel options available from SEA.
