The Cathay Group announces that it has achieved a significant milestone by carrying more than 100,000 passengers, the highest on a single day since the start of its rebuild.

On December 15, 2024, Cathay Pacific and HK Express, the Group’s two airlines, carried a total of 100,856 passengers. This was not only a notable accomplishment but also marked the culmination of eight days throughout the year when the Group exceeded the 100,000-passenger threshold during the travel peak.

“We are thrilled to have concluded the year 2024 on a high note with yet another milestone. The past year saw unprecedented progress and expansion for the Cathay Group, thanks to our people’s dedication and efforts,” said Ronald Lam.

Cathay Pacific has resumed seasonal services to Cairns, Australia and will be launching long-haul routes in 2025, including Hyderabad, Dallas, Munich, and Brussels. Additionally, HK Express is expanding its network with new services to Shizuoka and Sendai, Japan.

In early January 2025, the two airlines are expected to operate passenger services to 100 destinations worldwide, highlighting their recovery post-pandemic and their commitment to enhancing Hong Kong’s status as a leading global aviation hub.
