Thailand Celebrates Its Friendship with China at Harbin Ice Festival

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has joined this year’s Harbin Ice and Snow Festival, featuring a photo exhibition and cultural presentation at the Nihao! China: China Ice and Snow Tourism Overseas Promotion Season 2025 event.

The festival commenced on January 5 and will continue until January 8, marking 50 years of diplomatic relations between Thailand and China.

In her opening speech, TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool stated:

“The photo exhibition and cultural performances illustrate Thailand’s charm and serve as a bridge to inspire Chinese travellers, who are integral to our goal of welcoming 39 million international tourists in 2025.”

TAT’s presence at this festival, attracting about 40,000 visitors daily, reinforces the cultural ties between Thailand and China and encourages affluent Chinese tourists to explore Thailand.

At the center of TAT’s participation is the ‘Thai Charm’ Photo Exhibition, showcasing Thailand’s unique cultural heritage, hospitality, and vibrant tourist experiences. This exhibition connects Thai culture with Chinese audiences, sharing culinary delights and activities.

The festival also featured live performances highlighting Thailand’s diverse heritage, including traditional dances and showcases from various Thai regions. These events are designed to deepen the relations between the two nations and attract travelers during the Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025.
