On January 17, Mr. Walker, the beloved canine ambassador of Park Hyatt Melbourne, will officially retire after nine successful years at the hotel. The nine-year-old Labrador has touched the hearts of many since he joined in 2017.

Due to expert recommendations, guide dogs typically retire at this age to ensure they live a relaxed and fulfilling life.

An Iconic Presence

Mr. Walker has been more than just a dog; he has become a true symbol of the Park Hyatt Melbourne, receiving multiple Employee of the Month awards, reflecting his significant impact and charm.

He will continue his regular schedule, greeting guests from Monday to Friday until January 16, giving everyone a chance to bid farewell and cherish the memories he created.

In the days leading up to his retirement, the hotel shares Mr. Walker’s legacy on various platforms and encourages the community to use #ThanksMrWalker to share their moments with him.

The hotel will introduce Charlie, a six-year-old Labrador, as the new resident ambassador on February 20, marking the start of a fresh chapter in their tradition of canine companionship.
