The Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) has appointed SLC Representation as its new UK agency, a strategic partner responsible for enhancing the destination’s growth in the UK travel market. This collaboration aims to significantly boost visitor numbers from the UK through engaging with the travel trade, executing effective marketing campaigns, and fostering a strong desire among UK consumers to discover the wonders of Kenya.
SLC Representation will play an essential role in achieving KTB’s strategic goals by revitalizing the Magical Kenya Training Programme, equipping travel agents with comprehensive knowledge about Kenya’s offerings and motivating them to confidently promote the destination. The agency aims to strengthen relationships with key travel operators, tour operators, and media to ensure that Kenya meets its tourism marketing targets.
Recent improvements in Kenya’s tourism infrastructure include new premium train carriages on the Standard Railway Gauge (SGR) providing travel options from Nairobi to the coast, a favorite tourism route already served by hourly flights to various coastal destinations like Mombasa and Diani. The completion of the Dongo Kundu bypass has also improved access to Diani, the top beach destination in Africa.
June Chepkemei, CEO of KTB, stated: “We are excited to collaborate with SLC Representation. Their expertise in the UK travel sector and commitment to achieving outstanding results make them the perfect partner to help us reach our ambitious growth targets. We believe this partnership will unlock the full potential of the UK market for Kenyan tourism.”
Mala Mistry, PR Director at SLC Representation, added: “Kenya is an extraordinary destination, and we are thrilled to work closely with KTB to highlight its unique allure to the UK market. Our focus will be on sharing hidden treasures, exciting adventure options, newly available lodging, and enhanced sustainable travel practices, alongside innovative campaigns that will make 2025 a standout year for Kenya.\n
