ChefsForChildren Strengthens Its Role as a Solidarity and Educational Leader at Anantara Villa Padierna
The eighth edition of ChefsForChildren transformed Anantara Villa Padierna into a hub where gourmet cuisine meets philanthropic efforts. Focused on promoting healthy eating habits while supporting FEDER (Spanish Federation of Rare Diseases), 150 children, including those with rare illnesses and students from Daidín and Atalaya schools, were at the center of a day designed for learning, sharing, and enjoying cooking.
Under the motto “Eating healthy is fun,” top chefs left their kitchens to don aprons alongside the children. Through practical workshops, they prepared simple recipes that promote healthy eating habits in a playful, engaging manner.
Following a gastronomic forum held in the morning, the activities continued with children’s workshops, supported by professors from Le Cordon Bleu Madrid and students from the Benahavís Hospitality School, thus reinforcing the educational aspect of the event.
The celebration culminated in the evening with a traditional solidarity gala benefiting FEDER, where chefs and guests dined in a unique setting. The eight-course tasting menu was crafted by acclaimed Michelin-starred chefs from Málaga, including Mario Cachinero from Skina and Benito Gómez from Bardal. The prior cocktail, set in the amphitheater’s garden, was prepared by the hotel’s executive chef, Manuel Navarro, while the evening’s bread was crafted by master baker Domi Vélez.
Institutional support highlighted the social impact of the initiative, represented by various officials who emphasized the value of ChefsForChildren and its connection to Andalusian identity through regional products and culinary art.
In this edition, all funds raised were allocated to FEDER, which supports over 400 associations across Spain and works to advance research and improve treatment access for those affected by rare diseases.
“These initiatives allow us to bring visibility to over three million affected individuals in Spain,” stated FEDER President Juan Carrión, emphasizing the role of kitchen-based solidarity and hope.
Pilar Candil remarked that this project is more than just gastronomy; it is a deeply human experience. Seeing children engage and smile alongside premier chefs exemplifies the initiative’s real value, which continues to grow through the commitment and generosity of its diverse contributors.
