The Ascott Limited, Chelsea Football Club’s Official Hotels Partner, has successfully concluded the Vietnam debut of The Famous CFC, Chelsea’s fan engagement programme. Held on April 17 and 18, 2026, the event featured Chelsea legend Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and attracted over 300 fans and Ascott Star Rewards members to three Ascott properties in Hanoi.
The event marked Hasselbaink’s first official club visit to Vietnam, a significant moment for local Chelsea supporters. It also celebrated the official launch of Ascott Tay Ho Hanoi’s international convention centre, which features the Ho Tay Ballroom, the largest pillarless ballroom in Hanoi. This venue is part of a 1,165-room property set to open fully later this year.
Hasselbaink expressed his excitement, stating, “Spending the weekend with so many Chelsea fans in Hanoi was an amazing experience. You could really feel the passion for the club.”
John Rogers, Head of Partnerships at Chelsea, highlighted the strong connection with Southeast Asian fans, saying, “The turnout and engagement further prove the incredible connection we share with our established fanbase.”
The two-day programme included a coaching session for young beneficiaries of the Centre for Supporting Community Development Initiatives, a fireside chat, and an exclusive meet-and-greet. The event culminated in the Night with the Blues at the Ho Tay Ballroom, bringing the atmosphere of Stamford Bridge to Hanoi.
Tan Bee Leng noted, “This edition brought together two firsts – Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s inaugural official club visit to Vietnam and the official debut of Ascott Tay Ho Hanoi’s international convention centre.” The event demonstrated how Ascott’s partnership with Chelsea creates unique experiences for fans and members.
