Virgin Atlantic has become the first airline globally to introduce an app within ChatGPT, allowing customers to search, compare, and choose flights using everyday language. This innovative tool, launched on 20 April 2026, enables users to effortlessly plan trips by asking for flights with phrases like “flights to the Caribbean in February” or “show me flights in Premium to Los Angeles next month.”
The app, enhancing Virgin Atlantic’s AI-powered Concierge, displays tailored flight options succinctly, allowing customers to select their preferred flights easily. Upon making a choice, users are guided to Virgin Atlantic’s website or mobile app for finalizing bookings.
This initiative is part of Virgin Atlantic’s continuous digital development, including the rollout of the Virgin Atlantic Concierge and a new mobile application. Chief Customer Officer Juha Jaervinen stated, “We’re proud to be the first airline in the world to launch an app in ChatGPT… You can simply ask, and we’ll do the rest, showing the best options quickly.”
