Chelsea Football Club’s international fan engagement programme, The Famous CFC, made its Vietnam debut at Ascott Tay Ho Hanoi, featuring Chelsea legend Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. The event took place on April 17 and 18, 2026, and gathered over 300 fans and Ascott Star Rewards members for a series of engaging activities, including a fireside chat and the new Night with the Blues event.
The occasion was significant as it marked Hasselbaink’s first official visit to Vietnam, highlighting a crucial moment for the local Chelsea fan community. The programme culminated in an evening filled with fan games, chants, and a special dinner prepared by the venue’s culinary team. “Spending the weekend with so many Chelsea fans in Hanoi was an amazing experience,” Hasselbaink remarked, emphasizing the enthusiasm for the club.
John Rogers from Chelsea Football Club acknowledged the event’s success, stating, “Hanoi showcased exactly what The Famous CFC presented by Ascott is all about.” It also marked the grand opening of Ascott Tay Ho Hanoi’s international convention center, featuring Hanoi’s largest pillarless ballroom.
Additionally, the programme included a coaching session for young participants from the Centre for Supporting Community Development Initiatives, reflecting The Famous CFC’s commitment to community engagement. Tan Bee Leng highlighted the unique experiences provided at the event, underscoring Vietnam’s significance as a market for new developments.
