The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) officially inaugurated the Maha Songkran World Water Festival 2026 at Benchakitti Park, Bangkok on Saturday, April 11.

Running until April 15, this vibrant five-day event merges cultural heritage with live entertainment and water festivities at one of the largest Songkran celebrations in Thailand.

The ceremony garnered the presence of Thai Minister of Tourism and Sports Surasak Phancharoenworakul and high-ranking officials from both public and private sectors.

TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool emphasized, “Maha Songkran World Water Festival 2026 is a celebration crafted for everyone. It showcases the essence of Thai culture modernized for all ages, consolidating Songkran’s status as a global celebration. With UNESCO’s recognition, we aim to highlight Thailand as a premier festival destination.”
