Contour Airlines Increases Flight Options from Macon
Contour Airlines is set to reinstate its nonstop service from Middle Georgia Regional Airport to Baltimore, and introduce a new route to Fort Lauderdale, beginning June 9, 2026.
Contour Airlines has announced the reintroduction of direct flights from Middle Georgia Regional Airport to Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, along with launching a new route to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. These services will kick off on June 9, 2026, in response to growing demand from the community.
The Baltimore service will reconnect travelers in Macon to a significant Mid-Atlantic hub. “We’ve heard from travelers across Middle Georgia who have been asking for the return of Baltimore service,” said Ben Munson, President of Contour Airlines. Previously, this route was operated by the airline and is now being reinstated with excitement.
In addition to Baltimore, the new service to Fort Lauderdale will provide easy access to Florida’s beautiful beaches and cruise ports. Heather Hillstrom Lowe, Deputy Director of Aviation for Macon-Bibb County, highlighted that the updated schedule aims to maximize aircraft usage and enhance the travel network available to the community.
Daily flights to Baltimore will be available, with extra services on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The Fort Lauderdale route will be operational four times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Both routes will utilize Contour’s 30-seat regional jets, featuring leather seats, extra legroom, and complimentary snacks and beverages.
Mayor Lester Miller noted the importance of these services for leisure and business, emphasizing the ease of accessing major destinations straight from Macon. This move demonstrates Contour’s commitment to fulfilling passenger needs and developing the region’s connectivity.
