Virgin Atlantic Expands Bengaluru Flights to Thirteen Weekly

Virgin Atlantic is increasing its flights from London Heathrow to Bengaluru to 13 weekly, commencing June 1, 2026, enhancing its service commitment to India.

Virgin Atlantic is set to enhance its operations between London Heathrow and Bengaluru, increasing from 11 to 13 flights per week starting 1 June 2026. This expansion marks a significant move towards achieving double-daily services on this route, reflecting the airline’s commitment to strengthening its presence in India.

The increased frequency is part of Virgin Atlantic’s strategy to optimize connectivity across key global markets, with India being its largest growth area outside the US. The expanded schedule complements the airline’s existing double-daily services to Delhi and Mumbai and enhances its partnership with IndiGo, facilitating seamless connections to over 30 destinations within India.

Bengaluru, a major technology and innovation hub, plays a crucial role in global business travel. The additional flights will improve connectivity between the city and the UK, as well as provide better access to North American destinations such as Toronto, Seattle, San Francisco, and New York JFK, through Virgin Atlantic’s joint venture with Delta Air Lines and Air France-KLM.

The Bengaluru service will continue to be operated by Virgin Atlantic’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, offering a mix of Upper Class, Premium, and Economy seats. Since 2019, Virgin Atlantic has increased its capacity in India by over 250%, now offering more than 500,000 seats annually between the UK and India.

Shivani Singh, Country Manager for India at Virgin Atlantic, stated, “India continues to be one of Virgin Atlantic’s most dynamic and fastest-growing markets, and Bengaluru is central to that growth.”

Additionally, Virgin Atlantic announced a temporary switch from the Boeing 787 to the Airbus A350 on the London Heathrow–Mumbai route from 28 March to 15 May 2026, increasing capacity by 30% during this period.
