Mark Handl Appointed Managing Director of Dusit Thani Bangkok

Dusit International has appointed Mark Handl as the new managing director of Dusit Thani Bangkok, at a key moment for the company as it evolves its flagship hotel.

Leading Thai integrated hospitality firm Dusit International announced the appointment of Mark Handl as the managing director of Dusit Thani Bangkok on April 1. This new role comes as the company is building on the early success of its redesigned flagship hotel, which reopened in September 2024 after a complete renovation honoring its original heritage.

Handl expressed his enthusiasm for the role, stating, “Bangkok has long been a city I’ve aspired to work in, so it’s a real privilege to join Dusit and take on this role at such an important time for the business. Dusit Thani Bangkok has a strong legacy, rooted in heritage and a clear sense of identity, and I look forward to working with the team to continue building its international profile while staying true to what makes Thai hospitality so distinctive.”

Before joining Dusit, Handl was part of Abu Dhabi National Hotels, where he managed a portfolio of 15 properties across ten international brands. With over three decades in the hospitality sector, he has been part of senior management in renowned brands such as Park Hyatt, The Ritz-Carlton, Aman, and Rosewood across regions like Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas.

Handl’s comprehensive experience, including a strong operational foundation in food and beverage, positions him well for leadership in today’s competitive luxury travel market.
