IndiGo has established itself as the top foreign airline out of Sri Lanka, operating direct flights to key Indian cities.

IndiGo has emerged as the foremost foreign airline in Sri Lanka, executing 54 weekly flights connecting Sri Lanka to two cities: Colombo and Jaffna. These flights link Sri Lanka with four major cities in India – Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Mumbai.

“As the leading international carrier operating from Sri Lanka, we proudly celebrate this milestone that demonstrates our commitment to enhancing India-Sri Lanka relations,” said Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo. He emphasized their intention to stimulate tourism and bolster economic growth through increased air connectivity.

The Chairman of the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau stated, “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to IndiGo on its achievement of being the largest foreign airline in Sri Lanka. This is a significant milestone reflecting its dedication towards enhancing connectivity between our countries.” This advancement is expected to benefit both nations, especially boosting tourism and promoting economic exchanges.

Colombo serves as a thriving hub for business and tourism, offering easy access to a myriad of cultural and historical attractions. Meanwhile, Jaffna, notable for its rich heritage, also stands as an essential tourist destination, adding depth to the travel experience in Sri Lanka.
