Viking has launched new dates for its popular river cruises in India through 2029 and has announced the introduction of a second ship, Viking Ganges, to enhance capacity on this stunning route. This will allow travelers even more options for departure dates on the 15-day Wonders of India journey starting in 2027 that combines India’s famous Golden Triangle with an eight-day cruise on the Brahmaputra river.
New Booking Availability Through 2029
Viking is now accepting reservations for river voyages from 2027 to 2029, following strong interest since the program’s inception. Notably, Chairman and CEO Torstein Hagen remarks on heightened enthusiasm among travelers interested in exploring Northeast India and Assam in Viking’s renowned style of comfort.
To cater to the rising demand, Viking Ganges is expected to join the Viking Brahmaputra in late 2027, facilitating numerous departures between Guwahati and Nimati Ghat, especially during peak travel seasons.
Design Features
Both ships, Viking Ganges and Viking Brahmaputra, are meticulously designed for the Brahmaputra River, accommodating 80 guests in 40 veranda staterooms. Guests will enjoy a Scandinavian design with expansive sliding doors and private verandas for scenic river views.
