Gulf Air Expands Dammam Operations Through April 2026

Gulf Air has extended its flights from Dammam as Bahrain's airspace remains closed. Key international routes will continue until late April 2026.

Gulf Air, the national airline of Bahrain, has announced the extension of its temporary operations from King Fahd International Airport in Dammam until April 2026. This decision comes as Bahrain’s airspace remains temporarily closed due to current regional developments. The airline will maintain flights from Dammam to London Heathrow until 11 April 2026, whilst routes to Mumbai, Nairobi, Cairo, Chennai, Bangkok, Casablanca, and Manila will continue until 30 April 2026.

The extension of these operations is crucial as it allows Gulf Air to sustain its network amidst the ongoing airspace restrictions. The airline is also providing ground transportation between Bahrain and Dammam for passengers with confirmed bookings, ensuring seamless travel despite the disruptions.

Additionally, Gulf Air is offering assistance with Saudi Arabia transit visas exclusively for passengers travelling to and from Bahrain using the airline’s organised ground transport. However, passengers with Saudi Arabia as their final destination must independently secure a valid entry visa.

Travellers can book these flights through Gulf Air’s website, mobile app, or authorised travel agents. Gulf Air, established in 1950, operates over 50 destinations globally and has been recognised as a ‘Five-Star Major Airline’ by APEX for 2026. The airline’s fleet includes Boeing 787 and Airbus A320/A321 aircraft.
