Thailand Launches 'Healing Journey' to Encourage Wellness Travel

A campaign aimed at promoting wellness travel in Thailand has debuted, inviting global travelers to explore the country's rich wellness culture.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has unveiled its “Healing Journey Thailand” campaign, inviting international travelers to immerse themselves in the Kingdom’s wellness culture and rich travel experiences. Launched in January 2026, the initiative is designed to elevate Thailand as a premier destination for wellness-focused travel, encouraging guests to reconnect through cultural and rejuvenating journeys.

British singer-songwriter Henry Moodie features prominently in the campaign, with his narrative featured in a promotional film that made its debut at The Cinema at Selfridges in London. The film captures his explorations across Krabi and Trang, revealing Thailand’s vibrant culture.

This campaign showcases creator-led experiences throughout Thailand, mirroring a broader change in luxury travel toward more meaningful experiences. In southern Thailand, creators Malin and Jules explored Chumphon and Ranong, embracing slow living and coffee culture. Meanwhile, creators Casey Pickup and Kseniia Kalenyk engaged with Chiang Mai’s heritage through Lanna arts and traditional massages in northern Thailand.

In Sukhothai, creators Aytan Abbasli and Mia Emilie Persson uncovered UNESCO-listed sites and local craftsmanship, while in Khao Yai, Naziha Banu Fathima and Khaled Mohamed Abdulla Hamad Aljneibi combined sustainability with outdoor adventures. Patrick James Mitchell and Meghan Celina McPhee captivated nature in Phang Nga, participating in activities like diving and bamboo rafting.

The “Healing Journey Thailand” campaign reinforces TAT’s strategy of “Value over Volume,” advocating for sustainable tourism and fostering deep connections with Thailand’s landscapes, cultures, and communities.
