Parc Astérix Introduces New Attractions Inspired by Ancient Egypt

Explore the exciting new Egypt-themed attractions at Parc Astérix set to open in April 2026.

Parc Astérix is gearing up to enchant visitors with its newly redeveloped Egypt area, set to open on April 4, 2026. Located just 35 km north of Paris, the park will showcase revamped attractions including The Descent of the Nile and The Flight of Ibis, promising an immersive experience led by Cleopatra and Egyptian deities. To mark the grand reopening, children under 12 can enter for free until May 7, 2026, making it a perfect family getaway.

The Descent of the Nile, formerly identified as the Oxygénarium, has been upgraded for an exhilarating cruise along the famed waterway. Meanwhile, The Flight of Ibis, previously the Flying Chairs, allows guests to ascend 10 meters above a vibrant water garden. The launch also introduces a new buffet restaurant, Épidemaïs’ Counter, alongside a reimagined show, Cleopatra’s Gift, which aims to deliver an engaging experience for all ages.

The park’s dedication to family-oriented fun is exemplified by Cétautomatix, a spinning roller coaster inspired by the Gallic blacksmith, recently recognized as the world’s best new attraction in 2025. Additionally, the park’s latest restaurant, Les Fastes du Nil, has been awarded Europe’s best new food outlet, serving Middle Eastern-inspired dishes in an Egyptian ambiance.

For an extended adventure, visitors have the option to stay at one of the park’s three themed hotels, offering privileged early access to attractions. With these thrilling changes, Parc Astérix is set to solidify its status as a premier leisure destination.
