Sofitel Mumbai BKC Keeps Green Key Certification for 2025

Sofitel Mumbai BKC has successfully renewed its Green Key Certification, demonstrating its commitment to environmental sustainability and responsible tourism.

Sofitel Mumbai BKC, which was the first hotel in India to obtain its Green Key Certification in 2024, has passed the annual audit to renew its certification, valid through December 2025.

Awarded by the National Jury Green Key India and the Center for Environment Education (CEE), this prestigious certification stands as a benchmark for excellence in environmental responsibility and sustainable operations in the tourism sector. Maintaining this certification underscores the hotel’s commitment to upholding the stringent criteria established by the Foundation for Environmental Education, showcasing its dedication to sustainable practices.

Green Key certifications are awarded for a year and need to be renewed annually with evidence of improved environmental performance, including reduced utility consumption and increased sustainability awareness campaigns.

General Manager Manish Dayya stated: “This certification has inspired us to adopt smarter resource management, minimize waste and integrate sustainable choices into every aspect of our operations. It’s more than an accolade; it’s our way of ensuring a greener future while still delivering the exceptional service and elegance that is synonymous with the Sofitel brand. For our guests, it means a stay that reflects their values while enjoying luxury with a lighter footprint. Together, we’re committed to making every visit a step towards a more sustainable world.”
