Manchester’s luxury hospitality scene is about to see a major upgrade as the acclaimed Stock Exchange Hotel unveils plans for a significant expansion in the heart of Manchester. This iconic five-star property will add a new sister building called Stock Exchange Suites, located directly opposite the existing hotel. Scheduled to open in early 2027, the development will introduce 95 luxury suites, a boutique spa and gym, expanded social spaces and new meeting facilities, effectively extending one of the city’s most distinctive hotel addresses.
Rather than renovating the existing property, the project creates a second building that will seamlessly operate with the original hotel, expanding capacity while preserving the brand’s intimate service and design-led identity. This move comes as Manchester continues to attract growing numbers of international visitors, major sporting events, and conferences, positioning the city as one of the United Kingdom’s most dynamic urban tourism destinations. Planning permission for the development has already been approved.
The interiors of the new suites will be designed by Autoban, the studio behind the award-winning transformation of the historic Stock Exchange building into its current hotel form. The expansion will introduce three distinct suite categories across four floors: Arthur Hope Suites, Bradshaw Suites, and Norfolk Suites. Each suite will feature super king sized beds, spacious ensuite bathrooms, and flexible layouts that allow rooms to connect or open into larger lounge areas, ideal for groups and extended stays.
The design will mirror the understated luxury and craftsmanship synonymous with the original hotel, ensuring a seamless experience for guests across both buildings. An expanded Traders Lounge will serve as a social hub for guests across the entire estate, transitioning throughout the day from morning coffee and informal co-working to evening cocktails and social gatherings.
Confidence in Manchester’s Growing Tourism Market
The expanded property will be operated by Troo Hospitality, the same team managing the existing hotel. Winston Zahra stated, “We are delighted to share more details of what is to come at Stock Exchange Suites at such an exciting time for the city. An exceptional start to the year has strengthened our belief in the opportunity to grow. Stock Exchange Suites is a natural next step, allowing us to enhance our offer and meet demand for hosting groups and guests from across the globe.”
Once completed, the development will effectively extend the footprint of the Stock Exchange Hotel while preserving the personalized luxury experience that has made it one of Manchester’s most sought-after places to stay.
