
Norwegian Cruise Line has officially taken delivery of Norwegian Luna, the second ship in its next-generation Prima Plus Class, from Fincantieri’s Marghera shipyard in Italy. With a gross tonnage of 156,000 and accommodation for 3,565 guests across 1,809 staterooms, Norwegian Luna enhances NCL’s fleet by offering more dining options and attractions, gearing up for a year-round Caribbean service from Miami followed by Bermuda cruises from New York.
Norwegian Luna: Next-Generation Prima Plus Design
Norwegian Luna expands on the designs of Norwegian Prima and Viva with thoughtfully crafted venues, more outdoor spaces, and a heightened emphasis on guest flexibility. Highlights include:
- 17 dining options along with 18 bars and lounges, offering a variety from complimentary dining rooms to specialty restaurants.
- An array of staterooms including inside and oceanview options, suites, and The Haven by Norwegian®, their exclusive area with private services.
- An emphasis on spaciousness and engaging environments, aligned with NCL’s motto ‘It’s Different Out Here’.

Family Highlights: Aqua Slidecoaster, Luna Midway, and More
Norwegian Luna features numerous attractions designed to appeal to families and thrill-seekers, including:
- Aqua Slidecoaster – a unique hybrid of waterslide and rollercoaster, awarded the title of ‘Best Water Park Ride/Attraction’.
- Luna Midway – an outdoor recreational zone filled with carnival-like games.
- Moon Climber – a multi-level course for both adults and children.
- The Luna Game Zone – a space for both retro arcade games and VR experiences.
- Glow Court – a high-tech venue with an interactive LED floor transforming from a sports arena by day to a vibrant nightclub at night.
The Mandara Spa provides world-class wellness options, while the Vibe Beach Club serves as a serene adults-only retreat.
Entertainment and Dining: Elton Tribute, HIKO, and Global Flavors
Norwegian Luna debuts with diverse entertainment:
- “Elton: A Celebration of Elton John™” – a tribute featuring his classic hits.
- “HIKO: Innovation Meets Wonder™” – a visually stunning multimedia production.
- Syd Norman’s Pour House – returning with a tribute to the Eagles.
Culinary offerings include:
- Complimentary dining featuring international cuisine and a 24-hour restaurant.

Itineraries: Year-Round Caribbean from Miami, Then Bermuda from NYC
Following trials, Norwegian Luna will commence its inaugural transatlantic journey from Rome to Miami, with arrival set for March 23, 2026. The ship will be officially named at PortMiami on March 27, 2026 before launching into service.
During its first operational year, Norwegian Luna plans to:
- Homeport in Miami, managing both 3- and 4-day Bahamas cruises as well as 7-day Caribbean voyages.
- From April 11 to November 7, 2026, focus particularly on Eastern Caribbean routes, connecting to destinations like Puerto Plata and St. Thomas.
- Starting November 2026, it will transition to Western Caribbean routes.
On April 6, 2027, the ship will make its debut in New York City, opening up options for shorter Bermuda cruises with extended stays at the Royal Naval Dockyard.
