Pieter Elbers Steps Down as CEO of IndiGo, Citing Personal Reasons

Pieter Elbers has resigned as CEO of IndiGo effective immediately, with Rahul Bhatia taking over temporarily.

IndiGo’s CEO, Pieter Elbers, has resigned with immediate effect, as confirmed by the airline’s parent company, InterGlobe Aviation Limited, in a regulatory filing. In his resignation letter, Elbers stated:

“Due to personal reasons, I herewith submit my resignation from the position of CEO of IndiGo with effect from today.”

Following his departure, Rahul Bhatia, the Managing Director of InterGlobe Aviation, will temporarily manage the airline’s affairs until further decisions are made.

The official statement from the airline noted:

“With immediate effect, Pieter Elbers will be stepping down as InterGlobe Aviation Limited’s CEO. The Board of Directors extends its gratitude to Pieter for his service and contributions to the organization and wishes him success in his future endeavors. Rahul Bhatia, Managing Director of IndiGo, will assume management temporarily until the company announces a new leader, which is expected soon.”
