ABTA Leaders Recognized in the 2026 Powerlist
Three influential women from ABTA are celebrated in the 2026 Women in Trade Associations Powerlist for their immense contributions to the travel industry.
Three key figures from ABTA, the UK’s foremost travel trade organization, have been included in the 2026 Women in Trade Associations Powerlist. Claire Biddle, the Commercial Director, alongside Shelly Beresford and Laura Stephen, who share the title of Head of Brand and Marketing, were recognized for their contributions to the industry.
The Powerlist was unveiled on March 6, just before International Women’s Day, and honors women who advocate for their sectors and help their peers. Claire’s responsibilities include overseeing ABTA’s Commercial Department, which covers the ABTA Partner scheme and the events program while addressing challenges such as legal compliance and sustainability. Claire stated, “Being included in the Women in Trade Association Powerlist is a real honor for my team and me.”
In their joint role, Shelly and Laura lead ABTA’s branding and marketing initiatives to boost consumer trust and provide essential resources to their members. Shelly remarked on the importance of their recognition, saying, “Being included on the Powerlist is an endorsement of the opportunities and impact job shares can bring.” Laura further expressed, “It’s an honor to be recognized on the Powerlist, alongside incredible women.”
ABTA, with a membership of over 4,300 travel companies, plays a vital role in maintaining industry standards and encouraging sustainable travel practices. The acknowledgment of these leaders underscores the significant role women play in facilitating positive transformations within trade associations.
