Queenstown Airport has announced the opening of its ZQN Community Fund for 2026, inviting community organisations across the Southern Lakes region to apply for grants. Applications are open from March 2 to April 7, 2026, with the fund aiming to support projects that benefit the communities of Queenstown Lakes and Central Otago.
The initiative underscores the airport’s commitment to giving back to the communities it serves, aligning with its sustainability goals. Vanessa Hartnell, Partnerships and Marketing Manager at Queenstown Airport, stated, “As a key gateway to our region, we recognise our responsibility to give back and support the communities that support us.”

The fund, managed in partnership with 45South Community Foundation, prioritises projects that enhance community wellbeing, youth initiatives, environmental sustainability, and resilience. Last year, the fund supported various programmes, including youth trusts, environmental projects, and community wellbeing initiatives.
With a total of $50,000 available, grants will range from $1,000 to $5,000. Charitable organisations within the Queenstown Lakes and Central Otago districts are encouraged to apply, particularly those addressing local needs with a clear community impact.
