ABTA Introduces New Toolkit to Encourage Careers in Travel
ABTA has released a multimedia presentation toolkit aimed at inspiring students to explore career opportunities in the travel sector.
The Travel Association, ABTA, has launched a new multimedia presentation toolkit designed to inspire students to consider careers in the travel industry. Released to coincide with National Careers Week from 2 to 9 March, the toolkit provides ABTA members with a ready-made presentation to use in schools and colleges, saving them time and effort in creating their own materials.
The toolkit responds to feedback from ABTA members who expressed a desire to engage with students but lacked the resources to create comprehensive presentations. It offers insights into the UK outbound travel industry, highlights career opportunities, and includes resources for students to explore further, such as apprenticeships. Additionally, it incorporates travel advice from the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office’s Travel Aware campaign, focusing on issues relevant to young travelers.
Vicki Wolf, ABTA’s Head of Education and Career Development, stated, “We want everyone to be afforded the chance to be inspired to be part of travel and understand why it’s such a rewarding career. This new presentation pack aims to save our members time when preparing to speak at their local schools and colleges as we know how positively young people react when they hear from inspiring travel professionals.”
The toolkit is part of ABTA’s broader initiative to encourage the next generation to join the travel sector, complementing existing #bepartoftravel marketing resources. Members can access the toolkit and guidance on its use in the ABTA member zone.
