Marqués de Riscal Celebrates 20 Years of Its Wine City
Marqués de Riscal is set to showcase its wine tourism offerings at the FINE #Winetourism Marketplace on March 3 and 4, 2026, coinciding with the 20th anniversary of its Wine City.
Hereditary members of Marqués de Riscal will participate in the FINE #Winetourism Marketplace on March 3 and 4, 2026, to present their updated wine tourism offerings during a pivotal year for the company. The winery, named the Best Vineyard in the World in 2024 by the World’s Best Vineyards, arrives at the Valladolid fair with an updated proposal that showcases new wines from the winery, blending architecture, fine dining, and its latest vintages.
Their presence at this international event aims to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Wine City, which opened in 2006. Designed by Frank O. Gehry, the Marqués de Riscal Hotel has positioned the winery as a leading figure in Spanish wine tourism, attracting over 100,000 visitors annually.
Exceptional Experiences and International Recognition
The Wine City offers experiences that go beyond traditional visits. The complex includes the iconic Marqués de Riscal Hotel, providing an exclusive immersion in the landscape. Internally, the culinary offerings are overseen by chef Francis Paniego, boasting a menu that merges avant-garde cuisine with traditional Basque-Riojan flavors. Guests can further enjoy wellness experiences at the Vinothérapie® Caudalie Spa, featuring treatments inspired by the properties of grapes. These exceptional offerings have recently been recognized with the Cellar Door Experience of the Year award in Tim Atkin’s special report, Rioja 2026, highlighting the quality of service and hospitality that the winery provides in Elciego.
Innovation and the RISK ALL Campaign
Marqués de Riscal will also showcase its communication strategy successes at FINE. Under the concept ‘RISK ALL’, the winery celebrates its bold spirit that has guided its journey since 1858. This campaign, designed to honor its leadership in the world’s top vineyards ranking, has received the Innovation Award from La Guía de Vinos 2026 by La Vanguardia and the award for Best National Marketing Campaign at the International Wine Challenge. The philosophy of “risking for success” translates into actions that connect the brand’s history with contemporary visual codes, as demonstrated by the special edition of their 2021 Reserve illustrated by Isidro Ferrer.
Enological Innovations: Verdejo on Fine Lees
As part of its product offerings, the winery introduces a noteworthy innovation this February: Marqués de Riscal Verdejo on Fine Lees 2025. This wine, produced using regenerative agricultural practices to reflect the terroir of Rueda, has been awarded the Discovery Young White Wine prize in Tim Atkin’s Rueda Top 100 2026 report, scoring 93 points. Its creation, from old vines and aged on lees for texture and freshness, exemplifies the winery’s commitment to exploring the expressive potential of the Verdejo variety in the region. Participation in FINE #Winetourism Marketplace will allow Marqués de Riscal to strengthen its business alliances and project a brand image that, after more than 160 years, retains its ability for innovation and leadership in the global market.
