New Hotel Approved for Boston’s Seaport District

The Boston Zoning Commission has given the green light for a new urban lifestyle hotel, which will enhance the Seaport District.

DGH Hotel Partners JV LLC, a collaboration between Global Hospitality Investment Group (GHIG) and a global investment firm, has secured approval for a new hotel in Boston’s Seaport District. This decision was made by the Boston Zoning Commission after a unanimous vote from the Boston Planning Department’s Board on February 11, 2026.

The upcoming urban lifestyle hotel, to be located on Anchor Street next to the Thomas M. Menino Convention and Exhibition Centre, will feature 438 guest rooms spread over 160,000 square feet. It will complement the existing Aloft and Element Boston Seaport hotels, resulting in a total of 968 hotel rooms and retail spaces under a long-term lease agreement with the Massachusetts Convention Centre Authority (MCCA).

Kevin Colket, GHIG’s founder and CEO, shared his excitement about the expansion: “We look forward to growing our presence in Boston by expanding our footprint next to the Aloft and Element Hotels and completing the vision of delivering a mixed-use campus.” The development aims to bolster the convention centre’s expansion efforts and stimulate local economic activity.

Designed to meet LEED Gold Certification, the project will include a landscaped entry plaza, an indoor-outdoor lobby bar, and rooftop amenities. It is expected to enhance the neighbourhood with a pedestrian-friendly environment and create hundreds of local job opportunities.

GHIG, which specializes in hospitality-focused real estate private equity, manages around $600 million in assets and collaborates with global operators to generate long-term value through strategic hospitality investments.
