Air Astana Achieves Milestone with 50th C-check Completion
Air Astana has successfully completed its 50th C-check on an Airbus A320 aircraft, marking a significant achievement in its maintenance capabilities.
Air Astana has reached a significant milestone by completing its 50th C-check on an Airbus A320 family aircraft at its Engineering and Technical Centre in Astana. This accomplishment highlights the airline’s commitment to enhancing its technical capabilities and expanding heavy aircraft maintenance capacity in Kazakhstan.
The completion of 50 C-checks demonstrates Air Astana’s systematic investment in engineering infrastructure and workforce training. Each C-check involves numerous scheduled maintenance tasks, including extensive structural inspections, requiring over 20,000 man-hours to meet global aviation standards.
Robert Dando, Director of the Astana Technical Centre, remarked, “The 50th C-check milestone is the result of our consistent investments in engineering expertise, infrastructure, and human resources. Conducting complex maintenance checks in-house allows us to ensure quality control, reduces dependence on foreign maintenance providers, and fosters domestic expertise in civil aviation.”
Since 2019, Air Astana has independently carried out all types of C-checks on Airbus family aircraft at its bases in Almaty and Astana. The airline has successfully completed a variety of maintenance checks, including twenty-eight C1-checks, five C2-checks, ten C6-checks, and seven C12-checks. The company boasts a team of certified engineers and mechanics with internationally recognized EASA Part 66 licenses.
This enhancement of high-tech maintenance capabilities underlines Air Astana’s role in advancing Kazakhstan’s aviation industry, promoting technological self-sufficiency, and upholding high standards for aircraft reliability and safety.
